Have had alot of trouble shifting into gears at a stop. Feels like clutch will not release fully for a few seconds. Have new trans, new master and slave, (how do you bleed these darn things?)and a centerforce II clutch. Replaced pilot, throw out, and fork. Any suggestions?????????

pwknapp, I had pretty much the same prob. when I went from stock to aftermarket, although I'm not runnin' the same setup as you I'll bet it feels the same. Stock... my transmission did not want to drop into gear... especially Rev. if I was rolling... even ever sooo slowly. Had to come to a dead STOP. only then would it drop into gear. Then I replaced the C,PP,TOB,Fork, etc all to aftermarket... cain't recall right now what brand... but it's BEEFY! Now my truck is just the opposite, it LIKES to be rolling when I drop it in gear... except Rev... she's still a little tight and likes ONLY a dead stop. Also if you haven't already, try putting synthetic gear lube in the trans..... I think it takes a 75W-90 GL-4 rated. I have Amsoil in mine and after I switched it helped shifting stiffness ALOT. Is it always or only when cold.

I ran into similar problems when I first got my truck out of auction. Someone had partially filled it with wrong lube. When I drained it half came out one color and the lower half another.

It looked like the lower was the Chrysler oil for the NV4500, The upper looked like regular synthic 75w90. After asking around I found that they have a "special formula oil" from chysler so the syncro's work properly. I put that in and everything went way smoother and the transmission even quieted down alot. I may have ruined the syncros because shifting is smooth but not like some I have felt.

I guess the syncros are a special fiber that absorbs certail oils

When I shift I guess I only use syncro from stop, then matching RPM's don't notice the rest.

P. S. The oil from chrysler is clear and really light. I just changed it in fall but when I change again I will look for and alternative. $21 per qt from Chrysler. I haven't seen Amoil though.

Good luck

When I have to go to reverse, I put it in 5th for a second first. After it's been in 5th, it slides in rev w/o any problem.
