The problem I was having with the hard to start no matter which way I park has been fixed. I replaced the factory overflow valve with one from Piers Diesel. Fuel tank is well below 1/4 of being full and she still starts evertime, on the first crank. Engine sounds a little different also. Before I switched out the O/F valve, I heard a small distinct ticking noise when I was idling... . coincidence or just my imagination??

I'll be posting another article later this week describing my installation and improved ride with the new Kelderman Rear Air Ride... .

Thanks to all of you who recommended a course of action.

Hi goober.

Yes, I had to crank the starter 3 to 4 times, up to 15-20 secs each time, before she would come to life. Ran rough for a few seconds, white smoke, and then smoothed out. I have maybe 8 gallons left in the tank now and she fires up on the first try every time. I thought that my fuel shut-off soleonid was also acting up, but it appears that it wasn't the problem after all.

I inspected my original O/F valve and the spring still looks intact. I don't know if the spring is worn out or not. This O/F valve is a sealed unit. I can't unscrew it like I can do the one from Piers. It's sealed somehow.

After my latest trip to Elko, just parking it for 5 mins and then starting back up, I had to turn the starter for about 5 seconds before I got fuel to the injectors.

Are you experiencing the same problems I had?

Swapping out the overflow valve is easy. Took about 5 mins. Make sure you don't loose any of the washer between the valve and pump body.
