Auto and PE EZ?

I couldn't stand it and bought the EZ. It came in yesterday and I installed it. WOW! I've never gotten that much HP or torque gain for so little money!!:D

Having a 2001 auto, I have the hardline wastegate. My box did not include the restrictor and drill to modify the hardline. The vendor claims that these are not being produced yet even though I have instructions for the mod (downloaded from Edge)

Anyone out there done this mod... . ?

Am I being handed a line?

If so should I just go to Edge for the parts?

Thanks ahead of time... . and welcome a newly addicted BOMBer!!! Watch out Credit Card!!!:D

turbo

some folks use a turnbuckle or spring to hold the wastegate closed. TST makes a J-hook to serve the same purpose... ... . something to consider.

If you are impressed with the EZ then you need to feel the power with a Edge Comp. All I can say is WOW:eek: :D To modify the wastegate all you need to do is go down to you local hardware store and buy a 4" to 6" turnbuckle and install it on the wastegate. One side on the turbo and one on the wastegate this will solve you boost problem. ;)

No overboost code??

I can't believe there was not an overboost light. Next time it in for service they will pull it up on the computer and it will tell 'em what your top boost was, when, how fast you were going, etc. 21 or so no problem, but 30 psi they may raise a fit. my 2 cents:)

I just did the turnbuckle method on my buddie's 2001, and it works great. You think the EZ gave you more HP, wait until you get your boost up.

even with a boost module

the scantool shows the levels of boost seen on the ECM

and its doesn't stop there

The Ez can be removed the the ECM still saves the trail

As they say... I am my own warranty station :)

Bob's right... The ECM logs EVERYTHING. It knows if an EZ or a VA or whatever has been installed. I have seen it using the INSITE software... So those guys who think the plug in boxes leave no trace, well, they're wrong. It's all in the ECM.

guess theres no excuse not to swap my ez for a comp then:D

Hers a few pics...

This combines the turnbuckle and spring method. Works well for me. These are from the bottom so you have to try and orient yourself.

Gents - before you go another step, read the last line in my signature. After having said that, I invented the 22 shell method and it worked great for me for about 12K miles, then I switched to a PDR super turbo... . its even better.

Thanks everyone! With this and the info found through searching I have what I needed! This place is great!!

Let's see, Hmmm... . what's next?

Hardline Wastegate Mod

Ok. I'll bite, what's the 22 shell method? Any pics.

Will this help boost on a stock truck?

Both the spring w/turnbuckle and just teh turnbuckle look simple enough. What's the length & tension of the spring and size of the small turnbuckle??

I talked to a local Dodge Service manager and he said that if you un hook the battery then it will clear the codes and they cant retrieve them. For whats its worth? I have a hard time believing that Dodge is smart enought to have a ECM that will keep it in memory no matter what. My 2 cents;)
