I am still undecided on he best way to use an IPOD in my truck (04. 5 with the standard four speaker CD/cassette). Has anyone used the Harman Kardon drive+play? Is there an auxilary connection that you can plug in or do have to use it totally in the wireless mode? Thanks

I just replaced my el-cheapo radio with an alpine head unit for 199$. I has an option for a cable that goes in the gbox and i put the ipod on it.

It charges and i can play the tunes thru the radio

gotta love it, otherwise monster makes a connector that plugs into power point and uses rf to transmit to radio, that works good too

If you go wireless you'll lose some quality in the sound. If you go direct connection it will sound better. Some head units have an extra set of jacks so you can plug directly in.

An Aux input jack on the front on the head unit should be standard on all car stereos. This is not rocket science.

Glad you brought up iPod use. . for those that use them what avenues do you use to load music and how is the sound quality compared to C/D and or Sat Radio?

Matt the ipod comes with software for your computer. After the software is loaded you simply put your music cd's into your computer and they are transfered into the computer and onto your i-pod. Works good and is simple. Another benefit is you end up with a library of all your music (on your computer) that you can play when you want. Better plan on external hard drive if you do not have one.

I see, do you loose any sound quality vs playing the C/D direct?

Also. . if you were listening to something via the net, can you save that to this software or the iPod? I am thinking probably not due to all the copyright laws correct?

There's software to record a stream, it's freeware, I'll look around for it. Also the ipod software is free to download & I use it for podcast downloads and handling tunes on the desktop. Just loaded 6. 0. 1. 3 this morning. I hear it's good for burning, but I haven't tried that.

Yes - you loose some. However you could only tell if you used a wave analyser. You are not going to hear the difference.

Apple has incorporated something called Podcasting into the latest software. It allows for people to send out an iPod ready MP# to be downloaded and listend to. Very neat deal.
