I was going to add an external wastegate to the setup for better boost control, but I don't think the exhaust brake would work very well with an external wastegate in the loop unless it is tubed in upstream of the brake. If you bypass the brake with the external wastegate, as the backpressure builds in the engine when the brake is engaged, the pressure will just be relieved through the wastegate limiting the amount of back pressure to the size of spring in the wastegate (i. e. 20psi).
