Well, the EZ's program is different in the respect that it doesn't advance the timing any more than the factory 275HP ISB. The VA advances it a little more, and this is why some folks get a little bit of a stumble and lots of smoke with bigger injectors--mine was a perfect example of that. Also, the fueling curve of the VA is much different because it is doing its work after the ECM. The EZ runs cleaner because it works in direct conjunction with all the ISB's sensors, whereas the VA does not--it has to do it indirectly.
VA finally got smart a while back and decided to make several versions of its unit--a 215/235 ETC version, a 245 ETH, and a 260/275 RV version. A lot of RV owners were having problems with a lot of low-end smoke, and since the release of the 260/275 RV version, the low end smoke has been cleared up. One size fits all does not apply to the electronics, and this is what VA learned.
The newest VA has a boost module in it, we have one at work right now. Pretty cool looking, and it is much different than the previous units. It's got a plastic case now, and the wiring harness is separate from the "brain" unit. It is pretty nice, and it looks like it is getting more versatile. I think the new one is prgrammable too. Not sure on a price difference though...
