Interesting. I just read a news clip yesterday about a guy who saw some "big foots" about 30yrs ago while up somewhere in Wisconsin. He said he is going back there to try and find them and shoot some photos.

That was probably one of our big gals we have out here who love their cheese!!:D :-laf :-laf :p

I saw one ........

Near Chemult OR in 1996... . From 25 ft, made eye contact, big as a Kodiak bear... . He had hands, not paws, fingers not claws... ... . Seeing one of those guys is a major shake up to your world view... ... Those interested might want to read the following excellent thread by an Elk hunting guide who's own experience led him on a ten year odyssey investigating them in the Rockies... His contacts with guides, outfitters & LEOs gave him acess to info not usually available..... Kieth Foster on Bigfoot..... and here's an excellent piece by an Idaho professor in which he analyzes footprints... Dr Meldrum on VERY big feet...

I have a cousin in Shelton Wa. that about 30 years ago was out hunting with family and he saw something like what you are talking about. He found prints and pretty much scarred the hell out of him because it was so close.

i have seen bear sign ... both tracks and scat ...

and so have my 13 year old daughter and 7 year old son ...

and if the guy who swears he saw bigfoot hasn't then why would you believe he saw bigfoot ...

something that big would leave all kinds of sign ...

walk over to where you saw him and there would be tracks ... hair ... something ...

I thought the bowhunter thread was interesting, but two things grabbed my attention. First, the original poster kfoster put a lot of credence in the Patterson film and "identified" features in it (muscle groups) and such that would seem tough to isolate in such a grainy home movie. He also did comparison photos taken from the same site, unfortunately they did not show up on my machine. The Patterson film was finally proven to be a hoax after the principal's death (think it was earlier this year, or last year) when it came out in the major newspapers. A lot of people were pretty sore about that, but the poster on the bowhunting thread never came back on and discussed the implications for his analysis.

The second thing is that the guy "Bear" in that thread mentioned that their expedition to NM turned up lots of sightings and that he had sent off two samples of scat to labs for analysis, he promised to give the group an overview of their trip and report on the sample analysis but did not come back on and do so. The thread stretched between 2004 and 2006, I'd be very interested to see the results of that expedition.

This summer my son and I were in SE Oklahoma while he attended Boy Scout camp. I had my Bigfoot camper on the truck (Ironic huh :-laf ) and while he was at camp I stayed at the nearby state park and did a lot of exploring around the area. There have been a lot of sightings in Le Flore county and down around Honobia so I thought I would check out the terrain. The only thing I found were a lot of Bigfoot tracks painted on the highway pavement in a few spots advertising a "Bigfoot festival" thing. The terrain was pretty rugged around there but there were lots of small farms and the loggers had pretty well wiped out some large chunks of the forest, with that many people wandering around if there is something weird to see I reckon it will get seen.

On the Patterson Film.........

The BFRO is an organization of scientists who take BF very seriously... . Since the Patterson film was shot in 1967 no less then 7 individuals have come forward to claim that they "were the man in the monkey suit"... . Some poor souls will do anything for a little attention and fame, even confess to crimes they didn't commit... Witness that idiot who recently falsely confessed to the Joan Benet Ramsey murder... ... . Here's the BFRO on the Patterson Film;... The Patterson Film

If there was a bigfoot, there would be one on somebodies wall by now.

Oh I donno... .

If you actually read, and think about it... .

How long did it take for Missouri to actually accept the fact that there were Big Cats (cougars) in the state?

The sightings are in VERY sparsly habitated areas. Most of the sightings are by supprise, and by size, they are very intimidating. They move quickly enough by the time people regain their senses, they are gone.

I for one, have spent PLENTY of time in the woods. Areas like the Boundry Waters Canue Area Wilderness. I have been out getting firewood and heard things fall around me. Not small things. I wondered where they were comming from. When I was getting firewood one time, I noticed probably 6 good sized (6'' in diameter) trees/branches all stacked against a tree, haphazzardly. No small trees or braches near that area. I have heard things sounds/calls while out there that weren't human, and weren't animal. I have felt like I was being watched, when I was SURE there was no one around.

Now... AFTER seeing the site that was listed previously... . I can link all those things to one. I'm not afraid to think outside the box. I'm a believer.

I have a good friend who is an archeologist......

I won't give his name - but he is in his middle 60's - has a Ph D and was doing his post graduate work at Cal Berkely and was involved with the Patterson case..... in an interesting way. He was on a team that was working on the next drainage over from the Bluff Creek (Patterson ) and had discussions with the team after it happened. He was convinced something had happened and then the final was this. He worked as a smoke jumper to get through college (he had already served a tour as a Green Beret in SE Asia - 63) and he was on a fire in Alaska where they had jumped in and after putting it out - they were walking to an extraction area when the team came across a sand bar - way the heck out in the middle of the boonies and on this sandbar were a series of HUGE tracks - where NOBODY could have made them---they were the only people who had been there for who knows ho long - if ever... To this day he said he can remember those tracks as though it had just happened. He said they all stared at these tracks for several hours and were completely convinced and scared as they had no weapons - other than shovels and axes..... He only told me this story after he had heard of my experience... .....

Interesting stories. Some of the stuff on that website has me wandering. The Greene County Missouri deal on Lake Springfield is especially interesting. There is a website called undergroundozarks.com where people from this area relate their experiences in doing urban exploration. They mention the same place that the bfro mentions. It's actually called the Winoka Lodge. Some people claimed to have heard wierd noises howled at them and rocks thrown from out of site and they all left. One of the guys claimed the place is haunted by a skinwalker which is an indian legend supposedly something like a medicine man using his medicine for bad things. Funny that it's the same location as the bigfoot sighting from years before. Guess I need to pay more attention to the shadows when I'm out riding the miles and miles of trails in the Mark Twain National Forest on my horse or mule. I'd like to hang one of them things on the wall myself. :-laf

when someone has one hanging from a tree and calling for a taxidermist, I will then, and only then, be a believer.

Unless ofcourse Im sitting in a deer blind and one comes up and asks for a ciggarette. :-laf

Trust me I was pretty much with you........

and unconvinced until what we saw... ... . I can't obviously judge the other's and there probably are a lot of false reports... ... hopefully none on the BFRO... . but that day changed my opinion forever..... so believe what you will -
