Is the quality on these new Dodges any better?

Anyone with a 3rd genner had this happen to their underhood insulation. I can't figure out if it deteriorated on it's own or a little critter crawled under and did it trying to stay warm .

yes... ... ... it's rats. Took the insulation off below my steering column and deposited it in the front right door area down in the rocker panel. Been trying to kill 'em for about a month.

We had a truck at the dealer once that I was wondering why it was getting an entire new wire harness, apparently the guy went on vacation for a month cam eback and went to start the truck and nothing; the rats ate through the ENTIRE wire harness not one wire was intact... I could not believe it those are some mean rats... .

Those crittlers ate my buddys wireing also

I had to put a new wiring harness on my buddys Dodge for the same reason. I went to Agway and got rat bags posion and fed them that and no more trouble. That outfit got the stuff to get rid of those critters. :-laf

Critters

Mine looks the same. I did not use it early last winter about the time of our first cold weather. I checked my air filter box for a new filter. The box was full of grass and leaves. They made a nest.

Thats what I thought it was. It happened while camping in the desert near Ridgecrest Ca over the Thanksgiving day holiday.

You got to love the guys at Glenn E Thomas Dodge here in Long Beach Ca. They replaced it as a warranty item. ;)

Up here it was the squirrels that got my second genner and the brolaws 3rd genner out camping, they did more damage to his than mine, moth balls didn't keep them away either. If we were not in a provincial park with all the critter lovin, dried fruit eatin, tree huggin, nature lovinbackpacking/squatters,i was going to bring out the . 22 ruger with the scope, dead on at 60 yards and fix the problem, but in the end we decided to tie the 2 110lbs AMERICAN BULLDOGS a little closer to the dodges. I think the critters decided it wasn't worth it. These two mutts love to sit and protect their trucks, hell even when i'm turning wrenches on it they like to sit in the back hoping for a ride. Here little squirrel---do ya feel lucky---reguards---Bailey and Wrigley(MR WRIGGS)---later DW

Quill Pig Eats Truck!!!

Mine was a porcupine, on my last gasser. F150, that stayed on the weekend place we commuted to on weekends. Get there late one Friday, so we order pizza and I get in the truck to go get it. Starts a little hard and I get an emissions light. Smells like it's runnin' kinda rich. Figure the light and the smell are connected. Power flattened out once, but I got it back. About eight miles out the road, the low fuel light comes on. Great, I had 3/4 tank when I came down off the mountain. Pull up under the lights at the pumps across the street from the pizza joint and pop the hood so I can look for the leak. Look, nuthin' -- I can hear it. I look up underneath, and gasis cascading down from somewhere right onto the muffler and exhaust. :--) Prudence led me to shut 'er down right there.

Upshot was, a porky had got up under there, gnawed through an armored fuel line, three harnesses (transmission control and lighting) and gnawed just about all the undercoating off the truck. Only sampled of a brake line and the spare tire. About $11k to get it all fixed.

Come to find out dorF uses a pine-tar base (read "prorcupine bait")for their undercoating.

It was a chipmunk on my '95. Found a nest right next to the valve cover. Pretty smart. The 1,000 pounds of Cummins was heated all night by the block heater.

It was rats in my '01. Chewed on the fuel heater wire and took some of the paper towel (I had around the BHAF for a rattle) to make a nest on the intake manifold. I fed him/them some d'Con vitamin pellets.
