I've noticed that a few Rams have dual front shocks. Generally, I've seen this set-up advertised with lift kits. But can we buy this addition by itself?? If so. . how hard is this to add?? is it worth the hassle??

I expect to pick up a set of 9000's on the group purchase. Probably go for the in-cab adjustment as well. .

<font color=blue>You really don't need dual shocks up front for functionality. A single set of Rancho 9000's should handle just fine.
The dual shock setup is usually put on by most people for "looks".

Thats my opinion, some one else here may think differently. #ad

I have the Trailmaster dual stup on my truck. I put them on after about a month of swaying with my 2" lift. It seemed to help quite a bit. I also put on the stiffest front springs available from dodge. The springs that are fitted for a 1 ton with a snow plow prep. This leveled the ride a bit. I have a large bumper and winch. With a two inch lift and 35" tires, the geometry had definitely changed. I wouldn't lift a truclk without them again, because the engine is two heavy for a single, but I doubt the gains are worth it on a stock rig. Unless you want to pay for the looks.

Guess I should have said that in my post... my post was directed at a "stock" setup. Even a moderate lift and probably upto 35" tires a single shock would do.

Once you add a heavy bumper, snowplow, or winch, and bigger tires you might need a dual setup. But majority of people that lift their trucks use them for looks.
 
my lift uses the stock front springs with a 3" spacer, I noticed the front is much stiffer than before and don't suggest getting duals to my friends when they usually want them.
Sometimes I laugh at some of these trucks I see with unresenable amounts of shocks on their trucks because they must ride like crap, but its their truck.
