I don't imagine is done very often, but I would like to lower it down to about the half ton stance. Maybe soften up the ride a little as well. I have some old springs of my 96 half ton for the front. Would there be issues?

Greetings I'm new to the TDR and an expectant owner of an 05 Laramie 2WD, I'm told I should have it in a couple weeks.

I looking to lower my Ram as well, although it will be a 2WD. Nothing major maybe 2" in the front and 4" in the back.

Although everybody and their brother has parts for doing this to a 1500 nobody that I have found has a kit for a 2500. I've read about removing the spacer blocks in the rear which I will do right away.

I don't haul a 5th wheel and the race trailer I tow is only about 4000lbs so I'm willing to give up some bed capacity to get the look I want.

I lowered the rear 1. 25" at the axle but gained more drop out at the end of the tail gate. Its not much but made the truck appear more level even though it is still higher in the rear.

With the 1500's independent front end you could probably work with that truck much better. Lowering the 2500 4x4 would sacrifice wheel travel. BTW how do you like your trans now?

EnduroDriver, Welcome to TDR. What model 2wd are you getting... QC, RC, long or short?? and with a name like that you must run off road enduros, if so what bike and class?

Quad cab, short box. I have a Suburban now which I love but it just cannot handle the towing and has left me stranded one to many times.

On the racing question, I road race go-karts. We take regular sprint racing karts, monkey with the gearing and go run them at 100MPH+. Quite a kick. Here is a link to our club http://www.psrra.com, the website is a bit out of date, been to busy prepping karts for the new season.

Matt400,did you pull out those pieces between the axle and spring? Notice any vibration??transmission is awsome I just need a dry patch of pavement to really try it out. So far with a no boost launch but decent traction I did a 13. 7 on the g-tech,so I am happy.

I've pulled those pieces out to lower the rear of my dually also. I have noticed that in my case it did seem to help with the dreaded vibe. It's still there but not as bad.

Your '96 1/2 ton springs won't work. The spring rate would be way to low for the CTD. You would be riding on the bump stops.

You could certainly lower the back to level it with the front, but lowering the front would probably not be the best. There is only about 2-3" of upward axle travel on a stock CTD. If you take any of that out, you will be hitting the bumpstops. If you add those 1/2 ton springs, I can almost guarantee it will just sit on the bumpstops, since the spring rate is for a much lighter front end, and they are probably an inch or two shorter.

Thanks for the advice guys,I guess I was thinking the 2500 and 3500 sat way taller because of travel but I guess that is not the case , I think I will lower the back so thanks for the website klenger.
