It will take some major hacking to get a double DIN in there. You may be able to get a DIN & 1/2 with minor cutting but I doubt it will ever look really good.

Ther are kits to install single DIN heads w/o any cutting at all and that way you can always put the old head unit back when you sell the rig someday.

Just get the pop out DVD, bigger screen anyhow.

Well yes, that would be easier. The problem is that nobody makes a pop out with all those features. You can add them to Alpine for around 5K. Or get the Pioneer for 1500-1800 and get it custom installed.

The double DIN custom isn't that big of deal. I seen one, I guess they cut the hole bigger in your plastic, fiberglass where needed, bondo for finish, and paint it at an autobody shop. The one I seen was painted silver, which would match my silver interior trim. Plood trim (I hate it) trim would be a different story, probably have to go with decal, like a regular plood dash decal kit. Or paint all your trim to match your truck?

I have the Panasonic pop out, really great unit, the only con is the 2 volt pre-amp outputs. Would rather have 5 volt, like an excelon. My Panasonic has high and low pass crossovers variable in 5hz increments from like 80 to 145, 6 channels (front r and l, r surround, l surround, sub, and center) of pre-amp outputs so the unit decodes 5. 1 dolby digital signals on dvd, then I amplify and distribute them all individually for 'theater' quality sound. Don't know what else you could want?

I have not seen a Panasonic unit that offers either iPod or bluetooth. These are the things that really limit the options. Everyone makes a pop-out DVD screen. But nobody offers it with iPod connection and bluetooth in a single unit, except Pioneer.
