I know that a bunch of memebers are running w/o that cat, but I've never heard anyone come back Oo. Oo. Oo. and say that their milage went up a bunch.

I know someone locally who used a temporary test pipe. Made no difference on the dyno with an 05'. This was with an open pipe turbo back and aftermarket intake.

The problem with a cat is usually after a lot of miles due to soot and oxidation loading. That was the reason DC made a cat test pipe for 2nd gens. The cat would plug up enough to restrict outflow and the cat test pipe could be installed temporarily to see if the cat was causing a loss of power.

So, I doubt anyone removing a cat from a relatively new truck would see a quantifiable difference. Down the road, literally, is where a cat can become a problem.

i noticed my egts dropped about 100 degres under load but fuel mileage was about the same when mine fell off. plus it sounds better.

We replaced our muffler with a magnaflow, and kept our cat.

Sounds soo sweet, deep and smooth, no rice here, and our mileage went up about 1. 5.

Tuesday the MBPR muffler will go on, not sure about the CAT. I am not sure how loud it will be in the cab without the CAT. I just want the EGT to get lower. The truck is scary hot with out pulling the trailer.

I've been thinking about turning my back and seeing where the kitty goes for a while now. After 70K of Juice-induced smoke I wonder if the cat is getting plugged. I've got a few pieces of 4" exhaust pipe lying around. If I used those band clamps will they seal up? That way I can put it back on if I ever loose my mind.

i turned my back on my cat a while ago and have never went searching for it. poor kitty i hope someone gave him a good home. im not taking him back. :-laf

I also lost my cat and I have no reason to miss it ! MPG was unaffected and I doubt

there was any difference in power, but replacing the muffler did help. It's just extra weight and a potential problem down the road that I don't need !
