I used to have the Bosch 275s, VA, DD Boost Module and Banks wastegate actuator (pre Big Head) set to 28 psi and had virtually no smoke! Many NW BOMBers can attest to that.
I removed the VA and Bosch 275s in favor of the DD3s... I'm still glad I made that decision. A little smoke, but not objectionable. One thing I noticed, after replacing the DD wastegate fitting (with bleed orifice) with the OE brass elbow AND Banks Big Head wastegate actuator, my boost came up quite a bit faster.

I should also point out that was at the same time I installed my ATS exhaust manifold and Banks 14 cm2 turbine housing.
