Geno offers this carbon/charcoal filter, placed over the air intake for the cab. Its supposed to remove pollutants from entering the cab. I haven't heard much about it. Anyone tried it?? Comments?

I've posted on this some time ago and said that the filter didn't seem to do a very good job of eliminating odors, but that it cut down on the accumulation of dust in the cab. After a year of use, I am now more impressed by the performance of the product under extremely dusty conditions. In March, we went through a 70 mph dust storm on 395 as we passed Owen's Lake (a dry lake in CA). Could barely see the road for about 30 min. , but no noticeable dust accumulated on the dash! I've been in other extreme conditions up in the Black Rock Desert and the filter performed great. I change the filters every 6 month when the air flow restriction becomes too great to allow much ventilation. The filters also seem to help my allergies a bit. The only down side, besides the cost, is that they reduce the amount of air flow, even when they are new. You also need to use your head during the installation; use more sheet metal screws then they provide and seal everything up with silcon grease.

Deezal Man, search the archives for this... there were concerns regarding fit to the cowl. John Holmes even stated this in a past issue of the TDR (Ranch Dressing column). Has this problem been addressed and/or rectified?

As I remember, "Bad Brad" had a few things to say about the intake filter.
