Truck-to-trailer wiring...

Have you tried this brake controller

Try to sell your current trailer for whatever it is actually worth to a private buyer.

Then you'll be in a position to go in and negotiate a no-trade straight up purchase of the fifth wheel you want at a good price.

Regardless of what dealerships say, sales have been almost non-existent during the winter months and they are praying for a strong selling season during the spring, summer, and fall. They will negotiate with a good prospect.

In the meantime, join a credit union and put a little money in a savings account. A credit union will usually grant loans to a member at a much better rate than a dealer will.

Thanks Harvey. Problem is, I don't want to have to sell it since I still want something to use in the meantime. I'm not going back to tent camping that's for sure. We already belong to a credit union and put money into savings every week.

I understand. Go talk to your credit union then. Maybe they'll offer you a loan at a much more attractive rate than the RV dealer did. Since the recent and on-going debacle in the finance industry which loaned billions of dollars to home buyers with marginal or poor credit and to home buyers with good credit who couldn't afford the expensive homes they bought credit has tightened. Many folks with acceptable but not outstanding credit and loan to debt ratios are finding it much more difficult to borrow for purchases. Your credit union will probably treat you better.

I have no doubt of that. I'm going to wait until my truck is paid off before I try anything again. Only 5 more payments!!! Then the credit score should go much higher since my debt to income ratio will be much better.
