I was eyeballing the links page and clicked on the Blue Chip Diesel link. Their page has a lot of plain english explanations on various topics, and I liked that. The $64 dollar question is, has anyone tried their products?? Thier performance box sounds good, but I would be interested in any real world experience. I have not seen any discussion of their products on the forums. TIA, Sarge;)

I have their FMS Premium box and I think its greatness!! I did have some troubles with it up front but it was installation related, not the box itself. This thing adds some ridiculous power and the gauges and safegaurds on the box are excellent. I would encourage you to call and talk with Chip (owner) of Blue Chip. He is very knowledgeable for sure!

Sarge ... . Man you gotta get on more then! I can recall 20 or so threads on this very topic! Me I use an FMS Prem and love It! Torque This is running the Box ALONE (Sans the guages and smoke control) Do a search and your eyballs will start to fuel ;)

I still run my little old blue box with just an on\off switch. I bought it long before i ever knew the TDR existed. I now have it stacked with an older style van-aaken. I really like the old blue chip box, but next time i will go with something that is adjustable on the go, for both smoke and power levels.

Its not all cherries & ice cream. .

Some people that have tried fueling boxes while anticipating the rush of power, ended up frying their Injector Pumps within 20 minutes after installation, which cost them over $2000 for replacement, plus the cost of the fueling box.

I'd stick with big injectors & a timing box instead.

Tapping the pump wire is a gamble, unless you have money to burn. Just my opinion.

They are a Very good product. They are one of the better HP power enhancements especially if you haven't installed gauges yet. Also if towing or letting others drive your truck you can limit the EGT's and have less to worry about. If you already have gauges you may try one of many different boxes available. PE EZ, TST and Blue chip are my favorites. Kurt

Thats what I love about this forum, the differences of opinon and experiences!! Great info gentlemen. One question, what's the difference between a fueling box and a timing box? (besides the obivous) And who makes the timing boxes??? Sarge

I own the edge comp. It is a timing OR fueling box. Depends on how you hook it up. It has the side benifit of being a boost fooler too. If you want big power its available. That way you dont wind up buying two boxes. The Van Aiken aka bd plugin power plugs into the injection pump directly. I have stayed away from this. There is a void sticker in this location on the newer model trucks. Mine does not have it. Clever as people are you can buy void stickers off the internet to replace the one on the vehicle.

Dig Daddy, that sounds like what i'm looking for. I am very leary of tapping the pump wire. Stuff just seems to happen when that is done. How long have you had it installed? What kind of mileage have you experienced? I tow heavy now, and do not want to totally kill my mpg... ... ...

Seems like I have read on multiple threads and info boards that adding a fueling box or injectors both affect the duty cycle of the VP44. From what I read I gathered that just injectors and no box has the same probability of frying the VP as having a fueling box does. I am sure someone in the know will correct me if I am wrong though. Guess the old addage, you pay to play comes to mind here.
