has anyone used a Robin-Subaru generator?

I've seen them now in several adds. They make "superquiet" ones like the Hondas and Yamahas, but I haven't heard anything about them. I'd be looking for one in the 2-3000 watt range.

A local shop that sells only generators has them. They had some features that were better than the Honda but I can't remember what they were.

We ran a 10,000 watt Robin-Subaru 24 hrs a day for two weeks after Huricane Rita visited are place in east Texas. We only shut it off for fuel and oil changes. The generator worked fine. Gas was our problem finding,can you believe we were running out of gas in Texas. We are thinking about going to a propane gen set. We have two 500 gal propane tanks on the place.

I've seen them in Northern Tool. Don't know about the generating part, but the engine is very hard-working and durable. Used to be called "Wisconsin-Robin". I had a log splitter powered by a small 5 hp, and it was really worked for many hours at a time. Never gave me a minute's trouble, and always started on the first pull... that is until Hurricane Isabel gave it a bath a few years ago.

a buddy of mine bought one at home depot. it is quiet, and runs good. always starts on the first pull. seems like a good unit. his is somewhere between 3k and 4k watts. not huge but works well.

Our company supplied them to us after Wilma, we ran off them for 3 weeks. Only comoplaint, breakers on them are very touchy. we couldn't run our wall a/c off it with anything else plugged in. It would keep tripping. I hooked up my honda and it wouldn't trip. Other than that worked great.
