Has anyone used Royal Purple synthetic oil

I am in the Air Force And stationed in Germany. I am limited to Quaker State Universal HDX (Dino) and Royal Purple Synthetic. I am almost past the break in period and I would like to go to synthetic. The oil off base is way to expensive Shell Rotalia (Dino) $55 a Gal. Shell sythetic would cost around $75+ a Gal :{ . If you haver tried Royal Purple what is your oppinion.

I use Royal Purple in my diffs. Works great. Rotella T (dino) in the motor though.

Same as dieslhead - used RP in the diffs (works great by the way), but the only synthetic I ever used in my 99 was Valvoline Premium Blue Extreme, which also worked just fine.

I haven't used RP in the truck's engine (I use it in the differential), but I use RP in my Acura 3. 2TL-S. Given your choices of oil, I'd certainly go with the RP.

I have used RP in the engine before on my '02. No problems at all.

I am currently running Royal Purple in my '04 and have not had any problems. Just curious, what does a gal. of RP cost over there?

I used royal purple for quite some time. Excellent product. Can't go wrong.

RP cost $7. 95 a qt on base. They don't sell it off base. I buy diesel on base for 2. 88 a gal. Off base it runs almost $8 a Gal. I don't know how the Germans afford it. A Gal (4 liters) of Mobil 1 runs $87. 50 (70 euros)

Used RP in my old 02 and i use it in my 05. Great stuff.

Got over 125k miles with no problems. change filter/top off level @ 7500 miles,change oil/filter @ 15k miles. 75W90 in front/rear ends/transmission.
