Just wondering if any of you are still having steering problems with the newer trucks. Right now I have a very sour taste in my mouth towards Dodge over the crappy steering I've dealt with for 6 plus years but I suppose it's possible they've addressed the problem with the new models.

I've done everything possible aftermarket-wise to mine and it seems to steer pretty good until I drive a 3rd gen. No comparison,D/C definitely enhanced the steering on the new ones. Drive a F250 with the Twin Traction beam like I used to own if you want to talk wandering. Makes ours seem downright sweet.

I too was puzzled at the reported "Crappy steering" on 2nd generation trucks - and then saw the magic words:

4x4!

That explains it all... :-laf :-laf

Strangely enough, I'm starting to see surfacing reports of the infamous "Death Wobble" in some of the 3rd generation stuff (a search on "death wobble" in the 3rd generation forum delivered *33* threads on the problem!) - maybe all is still not perfection in 3rd generation land? ;)

Happily, my own '02 2x4 is still heading down the road in a proper and well-behaved manner... :D

'03 2wd CTD

 I drove an '03 2wd/rack&pinion(according to the salesman) 6-speed CTD and WOW! did that truck steer nice! You guys have one nice handling truck.

the steering has been cured on the 3rd gens, everytime I get back in my '02 its like driving an old warn out school bus. I can't believe anyone made such a horrible setup. my old 1st gen 2wd, with warn out ball joints and trashed steering coupler still had better steering than my 02 ever had even new

My '98 had a terrible steering pull when you hit the brakes. My '00 wandered all over the place. I got rid of both of them due to my wife refusing to drive them (I know, I know ... sounds like a good thing until you realize that we very often with drive 24 hours straight and I need a break at times). Swicthed to F**d for 5 years and now am back with Dodge in my '06. The steering difference is night and day compared to the 98 and 2000. All were/are 4x4s. I believe they have the primary issue resolved!

I had an 02 4X4 2nd gen and the steering was horrible on it. I felt like i was wrestling a grizzly bear on freeway trips. My 3rd gen is a whole different story. MUCH better steering. It does float a little with my NITTO's but not at all as bad as my 2nd gen.
