Normal % of fuel in the oil????

Can't pass this one up on EBAY---------

Hi All,

I live in a small town and have a hard time getting parts without having to drive 70 miles (one way) to pick up a Fleetguard... . Does anybody here have any experience with Hastings ( I can get it locally)... Is this brand any good?... . I have heard that some airfilters require a pipe to be inserted to into the filter opening so the clamp won't crush the filter inlet. Is the filter inlet on this filter stiff enough as is? NOTE: I can also het the NAPA locally... . would this be better?

Thanks for your help

Andrew

Bear in mind that the BHAF flows rather pitifully compared to an aFe or other performance filter.

Where the BHAF lacks in flow... it gains in keeping the air clean. They only flow a little better than the stock airbox with a stock filter... but every little bit counts.

The best of both worlds is the aFe Pro-GUARD 7. It's 7 layers of high flowing, excellent filtration, diesel happiness!

Matt are you sure about that? I thought I remembered reading a post sometime back, can't find it now  that compared the BHAF to the stocker and it flowed considerably more air. I'll see if I can dig up the info I thought I had.

Jim: That was a good link. Way more information than I've ever seen posted about an air filter comparison...

You can nit pick some of the things they're saying in there - as it seems like the whole idea was to prove that the OEM filter setup is good enough for most folks.

Ryan: Now that you mention it - I can't find the results I read a while ago. The results were probably on an aftermarket air filter manufacturer's website. :)

What about running two Fleetguard BHAFs, assuming necessary room? I don't know how to calculate flow. And by two, I mean two plumbed into a "Y" then to the turbo.

Just going off memory here, but I thought Joe Donnely ran some flow tests a few years ago and found the stock box aroud 400 cfm and the AH19037 over 600 cfm. The test was in the TDR magazine a few years ago, way too long for my memory  I could be wrong.

It has been done... sorta. I've always wanted to run dual fender mounted air cleaners... just like the big rigs. They also run 7" (!) intake pipes on a lot of those OTR trucks...

Go to www.filter1.com

They have BHAF for $29 and change. You may have to set up a business account, but you can fudge a little bit on that.
