Ran the snot out of my truck last night to see how it acted in cool air. It was 59* out last night and on level 3 of my box I cant keep it from hitting 1500* of EGT. Tahts empty just racing up the road. Is this normal for my mods??? All I have is a box and a small set of nozzles... I see guys on here pullin the sled and drag racing (in summer heat) with more fuel mods and still a stock charger! Why does mine get so warm. Talked to a guy the other day that stacked a Juice with a Flashpak and he "says" he cant go past 1350*???? Thats a stock charger too. Just frustrated right now spent 6 grand on my truck this year and cant afford a turbo right now

4. 10s means the rpms are gonna be pretty high, and you are trying to sqeeze a lot of air out a tiny hole. Also, I don't know how much timing the xpower does.

Isn't the X-power a duration box only? If so, that's the root of your EGT problems. I don't think the X-power plugs into the cam/crank sensors like the TST does. Couple that with your injectors, and voila! Hot EGT's.

Also, the stock turbo with a 9cm housing doesn't exactly let a lot of exhaust gas out, trapping a lot of heat.

One other thing, if your running sticks and a duration only box you are draining the rail and no amount of intake work/exhaust work/turbo work is going to keep temps in check with low rail pressure. Next purchase should be a rail pressure guage, figure out what is happening there then decide how to address the problem.

you really cant go wrong with the super phat shaft 62 from industrial injection. has to be the best performance towing turbo ever built it will keep your egt's in check.

I'll agree with that. The 62's are excellent turbos for the stock to medium performance guys. For most, it's all a guy would need. You can't go wrong with High Tech Turbos or Industrial.

The deciding factor is how many bills you wanna put up for a turbo :D

Low rail pressure will lead to poor atomization, thus a higher EGT...

Sometimes a porrly made injector will put alot of fuel in the engine, But if it is at a low rail pressure - The result will be low HP and high EGTS

My truck on 6/5 is money, on 8/7, smokey pig and super high EGTS - though still feels some what fast

Maybe blown rail pressure relief valve?

what's the power record for an sps62? I thought it was over 700hp

On fuel only? I don't care how you get 700hp out of a 62, the EGT's will be through the roof. Heck, With my ole sps66 my egt's through the 1/4 maxed out the 1600 gauge... .

You guys need to check with Performance Diesel Warehouse about a group buy. Doug and I have been getting together on a program. Check with him. Thanks

Yeh just plugs into the MAP and the injector harness.

What about a pusher pump to supply more fuel to the rail and help keep it from drying out???

This is whant I want to do right now, pusher pump and a bigger charger. Dont want to replace box seeings how I just bought it and it seems to make my truck come to life???
