Can someone tell me where in the '05 owner's manual are the instructions on the seatbelt reminder? Can't fine them anywhere.

If you unplug the wire under the drivers seat and make a little jumper wire to go between the two connections, you will disable the ding AND the red warning light on the instrument panel

unplug the wire coming from the seatbelt and jump the posts using a blue crimp on spade terminal. fits perfect 5 min job. no light no ding

i have tried to turn mine off many times by following the owners manaul & still can't get it off. I agree that seatbelt ding sucks. I drive around 5mph checking water on the farm & have to get in and out a bunch.

I had to try it two or three times to get it right. Finally had my father inlaw read me the steps while I went through them in rapid enough order.

I turned my seat belt ding off because I have a hard time backing up my travel trailer when buckled in. .

Does anybody know where the dinger is? Why not just disconnect it at the source?

There is only one dinger, it is for everything dinged by something in the truck and is part of the Instrument Cluster. Don't think you can disable it without destroying part of the Instrument Cluster.

For you 2nd gens.

I remember at my travel/car job that I ran across a company work truck. Ram 1500. Not sure of exact year, but it was a 2nd gen body.

With the door opened. key in run, but not running, it would ding. Key in ignition off position, it would ding. Key in the acc position, there would no,zero, zilch ding!!!

Basicly, exatly what we are looking for, this truck did it with that ding. Is this common with all second gens? or just this one truck that I ran across?

I just snapped in the middle seatbelt male end into the drivers side female which takes care of the chime and light warning.
