15 MPG sounds just about right to me too. You've got an auto truck, and you're not driving at reasonable (60-65 MPH) highway speeds.

My Y2K gets consistently between 15. 3 and 15. 8 MPG for my brand of mixed highway/rural driving. I take er out of O/D anytime I'm under 50 MPH, and I travel empty almost all of the time. On a real "highway" trip out of state, I can expect 18-19 MPG depending on how fast I drive.

It's tough to keep my foot off the accellerator, and I noticed my mileage goes down DRAMATICALLY if I keep the highway speeds OVER about 65-68 MPH. At 75 MPH, I bet I'm only getting 14, but at 65 I'm probably getting 19. Lots of drag on these big beasts.

Man I'd like to get 15. 5 around town. Not that I've done enough town driving to know what I get for a tank full. But watching my overhead console tells me that around town I get about 12 to 13. Hey man, I only get 17 to 18 on the road. But I'm not complaining becuase I love that diesel. I don't run empty too often either. I'm haulin the biggest truck camper they make and I can't believe a gasser would get that kind of milege haulin my slide in. And when I say giddie up. By god it goes. Even up the mountain roads.
