My hat is off to PML for the quality transmission and rear end covers they sell.

I just changed out my stock transmission pan and rear end cover for the PML Aluminum covers and what a nice product, every thing fit perfect and no drips no runs no errors, I am impressed.

Good job PML!

Gentlemen,

Attached are photos of the two PML covers I put on my 04. 5 truck. Please excuse the mess as the photos were taken right after install. Enjoy :D

Does the diff cover have a drain plug?

Yes it is on the bottom and it has a magnet in the drain plug as well. The cover has three plugs, one on top to use for filling, one on the side that is used as the fill level and the one on the bottom to drain the pumpkin.

Look close at the picture on the right top you should see the top plug on the right side you will see the middle plug and on the right side of the bottom.

Very nice unit.

I agree, I just installed the front yesterday.

Mag Hi Tec is losing allot of business!!!

Mac

I like the Mag-Hytec but was leary of them deleting the top and bottom bolt holes on the cover. I figure AAM put them there for a reason, I also like the stock gasket better then the O-Ring gasket used by Mag Hy-Tec.

I do like the Mag-Hytec dip stick, that is a very nice item to have.

Other then that the Mag-Hytec looks real cool on a truck.

The PML pans look good unpainted or painted to me.

Either one is a good cover, maybe PML will force Mag-Hytec to have to lower their price on their pans. I would buy the PML pan and cover again as the quality is top notch.

I'm getting the final inspections on my "barn" (garage/shop) this week and hopefully I will be able to get some of the mods going on the truck instead of working on the building.

Mark, I will be stoping by in the next few weeks. PML is on the list!

i want that garage

It's only 2,500 square feet, 14' ceiling, with the front third walled off so I don't let all the heat/AC escape when going in or out. The 10'x10' center door is repeated on the interior dividing wall and lines up with the 4-post lift. 6 ton HVAC, 110V and 220V outlets everywhere.

I went to work every day for 40 years to be able to build the "barn". Retired at 50, now the fun begins!!

(Barn envy is a terrible thing!) :)

Is the fill level hole at the right height to fill the diff properly, or do we still have to fill below the level of the hole like on the stock covers?

Les,

I can't wait to see the mods on your truck that come out of that barn!!

I filled mine right up to the hole on the right side, 5 quarts of Royal Purple was just enough to reach the hole without spilling any out the hole, if you look at the picture of the red cover in this thread you can see the plug in the middle is about even with the bottom of the axle tubes.
