Have a few questions

Have a 01 and have some things going on that I would like to check out. I have the auto O/D and I am noticing there is a shutter type feel coming out with the O/D on and I dont feel it off. The last few snow stroms left piles and ruts of snow and since too, there is a wonder or play in the steering. It looks like it is on the input side of the box all the linkage is still tight. How do you know if the lift pump is going out, less have a gauge? My mileage went from 20-21 to 15-16 and all the same on the truck. If someone out there could help with what they felt or heard I could compare and state the facts to the dealer to get some of there quess time out of the way. I have read problems with O/D and steering box but cannt find the link. If I could get here for direct ideas, I'd just make a copy to take with me. Great people out there and thanks for the help!

You can get an inexpense fuel press. gauge from Briarhopper, its a test gauge you just screw into injector pump and take off after your finshed checking the pressures. And carry it with you in the truck and check when needed, takes about 3 minutes to do.
