I have had some bad luck with a mechanic since i took my truck in for a hesitation on take off and got it back with a new problem---- both of which have not been fixed yet. about 2500$ in already.

They said it was the lift pump even though when it occured i was constantly watching the fuel pressure gauge and had no drop at all, anytime it happened. I've heard all the problems with the lift pumps and i know thats what all the mechanics were thinking, but they were wrong. Now i have the retrofit that i didn't want because the guy talked me out of the Carter. $1425. 00. He said i had bad fuel because of what color it was and he threw away 3/4 of a tank. Even though i had told him that i had poured a quart of transmission fluid and a whole bottle of power service in before bringing it to him because i thought the same thing. I can get over that and the new fuel filter that he put in, even though i told him it was just replaced--- just run up the bill.

When i picked it up it was the same problem with the stumble on take off. But the bigger problem to me is having to drive it to get the pressure up.

Took it back the next day to fix it and the check engine light came on. 2 codes, low voltage to the lift pump and cam position sensor. He said faulty lift pump so he warranteed it. same problem still exist. Heres the kicker, it would pressure up key on like it used to after it sat for days, dont know if flashing computer did it. Also i had ordered new ground cable for pass side, down for 3 days. then when key on it popped right up. In all of these instances whereit worked properly, it would die off a little each day till it was back to 0 psi.

Next trip to the mechanic, not even worried about the stumble any more, need fuel pressure!!! They keep it all week and said my fuel line was clogged, could not blow it out 185psi air. So the put the cheap option on, rubber line. All week down, same outcome, good at first but then 0 psi. $535. 00 I replaced the cam position sensor with oem part. 2 new exide batteries, and the other ground cable.

Questions are--- does the supply line have a check valve, because he blew from engine back to tank. what can be the reason for slow buildup, no key on response. Old LP was 7 psi always, new one is 12. can what caused the stumble be electrical and is related to pressure proplems. -----PLEASE HELP---DONT WANT INJECTION PUMP TO GO DUE TO LAGGING. THANKS
