I have to sign in every time I come here--everyday. The site won't hold "remember me" for some reason. Again!! What gives?

Your browser must be clearing cookies when you exit the forum, or it won't allow cookies. You might want to check your browser security settings. No problems here.

Internet Explorer drove me nuts with that. It did it with multiple sites. My tech savvy neighbor's did the same thing. I switched over to Chrome and everything's fine now. I use Microsoft Security Essentials.
I could log in on my wife's laptop and stay logged in.No issues. ??? Internet Explorer continues to work fine for her.

I had to re-register one time a few days ago when the web site was updated. No problem since then and I'm using Internet Explorer on my PCs. As Rusty suggested, check your settings.

I'm having the same trouble today. Visited here 2 times today and I have to keep logging in.

this site is the only one I am having a problem with, and since the redo or what ever it is. Other time was when my subscription was in question, office straitened that out.
Sorry about not seeing the sticky, but am using IE with Firefox as browser.

I am having the same issue, on 3 computers and a tablet. But the issue is only with this site. Chrome, Firefox, and Safari all have issues.

I am inclined to believe that TDR has an issue and not the machines on my end.

This started happening a week or two ago and does seem to be better but I still have to login at random.

The TDR forum software was upgraded right about then. Whenever that happens there are problems like this with cookies on pcs and them not recognizing or releasing them, etc. We've dealt with this many times over the last 17 years. Please trust me and try the directions I linked above and I can almost guarantee your problem will be solved. I could go back and show you at least 100 posts where people doubted this would solve the problem and when we finally convinced them to try it that the problem was solved.

I'm having no problems. I use Chrome. I would second the "cookie" issue being with your settings.

Not trying to say I'm right and you're wrong, just posting my experience and opinion on a solution.

Why is it isolated to this website? I go to plenty of forums and they all update too.

I am not saying it isn't a cookie issue, just curious what makes the software for TDR "special".

OK, today my sign-in was OK and went directly to the site. DID not change anything, or add anything other than double check to see if the COOKIES were there and they were. So I guess there is a mystery gremlin some where that is causing a little anguish.
Thanks for your suggestions any way Steve and your trouble.

I had to sign in again on both my work (Chrome for a browser) and home (IE for a browser) computers after the TDR software update. I haven't had to sign in again since then.

Guys, it takes like 30 seconds to try the things suggested above. It's taken you longer to respond to this again with your doubts. The cookie has hash settings in it to key it to the site. When vbulletin upgrades sometimes they change how the hash is calculated. If your browser doesn't allow the old one to delete you'lln have the exact problem your having. I've had it happen to me too. EVERY time it's happened deleting the cookies for the tdr and then logging back in with remember me checked had solved the problem - as it has with all of the users that have done the same.

I am not doubting, I am asking why the software for this forum is different than all the other forums.

But that hasn't helped for me…after your site upgrade, I did just that, being already familiar with the problem that TDR website has with remembering who I am. In short, sometimes it remembers my cookie when I go to search new posts and other times it does NOT vent htoug I always stay logged in, and then I have to go to "forums" where it recognizes my cookie (welcomes "seafish) and then go to new post and the search works, even though I have not logged in again, only gone to a different page on TDR first.

NO other similar forum sites that I frequently go to have this issue at all….obviously it is not a huge issue, nor will it keep me from coming back, though it is a nuisance and it would be nice to have it fixed. Contrary to what you are saying, it DOES in fact seem to be linked to TDR vBullitien software and not just my browser (Safari) as other people are ALSO having the same problem.

seafish - I started having that same problem with Safari on 2 other forums I take part in over the last 6 months or so - although not on the TDR. I haven't been able to figure it out - both use different software, btw (neither uses vBulletin). No idea what's going on there, if I figure it out I'll let you know. I also run windows in a VM on my mac and don't have the problem with those same sites using IE or chrome in windows.

Thanks Steve, I'd appreciate that. I could just use Chrome, but I actually prefer Safari except for this one quirk.
