Blew up my exhaust system....

Good price on FASS

04 2500 HO with an auto, I have a TST box and an Volumizer piggybacked, with only the TST being hooked up to the crank and cam sensors, and an intake kit, the egt's are getting very HOT, what is the next logical mod to cool this thing down? Pump, Injectors, Exhaust, Turbo?

Definately exhaust. I don't see gauges, but you say you know it's hot, so I would assume you have them. If not, get some. After exhaust, you might need a turbo.

Turbo is on my list when I find one I like. Definitely get rid of the stock muffler first though.

Lets see here,

What else you say?

Well your transmission will last about 5 minutes with that combo. You should be able to rip through the stock torque converter on level 4x4. Exhaust is a must, Big turbo will help but with a stacked system twins are in order. Lift pump will be at 0 on some stock trucks so I would do that first, the the transmission, then the turbo(s) then the exhaust. Do the exhaust and turbo at the same time to save money.

I would definetly put on some other gauges to moniter egt more closely than the TST digital gauge. You just get a much more accurate reading... . Just my $. 02

Fass is a quality product and you pay for just that. You may also look into Diesel Dynamic's pusher kit.

I have ran the DD pusherpump for almost a year with no issues. I have had DDIII's in there with a 140 HP Bullydog Torque dog. No issues and no hickups. The kit is well designed and goes in fast. About 30 minutes. Now get a big turbo and upgrade that drivetrain before you kill something.

That is an insane number. You are seriously damaging pistons at that type of heat for any amount of time. An exhaust system will not do anything at this point. Buy a turbo, downpipe and exhaust all from the same vendor. Get your transmission built pronto. You are gonna kill this truck... ...

I have only seen it there once, normally I only run the boxes on 2x4 and the volumizer on the 60 hp setting, I know I need to do something to handle the capabilities, So I'll start with transmission, a fuel system, turbo, exhaust, until then, I'll keep the TST box off, and exhaust temp below 1300.

That sounds great SR,

Get a good transmission and the rest will just compliment the truck even more. My opinion is that the DTT transmission I put in my 01 was the best money I ever spent on a truck.

Did you buy the transmission from them or valve body and converter and have a local shop install? How about output shaft and master controller? What are your opinions on these? Thanks

Scott

Scott,

I went to see Fred Swanson in Pheonix, AZ. He is an authorized installer for DTT. Great guy and real fair. I am sure if you call Bill K he will tell you who to go see.
