New 05 Mustang GT

I got a new AAA credit card awhile back and it gave you 5% cash back on all pay at the pump. It was a 9% fixed apr. Well I used it alot. I got a note saying they could no longer do the 5% and now it would be UP TO 5%. That ticked me off.

I thought oh well, then I got a bill with and they had changed my apr to 19. 9, I had never missed a payment or anything and I called them and they said yeah that I had just been paying the min payment and that was their policy, I thought what a bunch of shisters, I payed it off and was PO that they had popped me that month for the high rate.

Then they sent me this offer of 0% for like 6 months and I thought here is my chance to get even on them. I maxed it at the 0%. well I made the payment for like 5 months and then I got back home for a trip and mailed the payment in and it was 2 days late- 2days and I had never been late before in the last year. They popped me for $39 and 260$ in interest. Said they had raised it to 23%!!!!!!!!! Look I have good credit and I havent payed more tha 9% in like 10 years.

Man it made me made as a hornet. I thought something I have never thought of before..... What if i told them to take that off or they were going to eat the whole 15K. I was going to walk on it. I mean it is an unsecured loan. My Dad is a lawyer and does lots of Bankruptcies so I called his sec and said look why do people go bankrupt? Why dont they just blow off a BS CC like this and keep paying all their other bills. She gave me the bad news and said they could garnish your wages and make you sell your house if you didnt go bankrupt.

Oh well, i'm going to pay it but hey there are some blood sucking CC companies out there and the AAA visa is one of them and I work for AAA. I just wish I didnt own a house or anyland and I could really pop them guys

Bankruptcy is not what it's cracked up to be. Rarely can you just "walk". They make you make the payments they (they being the court... i. e. judge) think you can pay. My friend that just filed bankruptcy... he's shelling out 600 a month for the next 6 years. Gee whata deal. The good thing is they can't come take anything from you anymore.

Watch what you get yourself into, know the facts first. Bottom line, pay your bills and live within your means. That last part is the biggest factor in todays world, no one can except or is willing to except that they can't have everything they want.

We have had a 2 CC companies change the deal after a few months. Had the original offers saved so our financial planner (wife) called and read 'em the riot act. They said they had changed it - "That was then, this is now. " She threatened to pay off and close the accounts. One said, "Oh well... " So that's what we did. The other company reinstated the original deal.

We've had that too where we've paid off CC's each month, then they raise the "fixed" rate. We call and ask why they raised our "fixed" rate and they claim it was company wide. 3% for every card they have issued is gigantic in terms of new found revenue. We usually just pay it off, cancel it, and shread the cards. Typically within a month or two they are sending us new offers with lower rates. They go straight into the shreader. We've had other cards that have never pulled the rug out from under us and we've stayed with them.

Another thing to watch out for is ones that raise your credit limit. Be careful of these as well. Think about how much you can handle if someone were to get ahold of your card and you got stuck with the bill.

Typical of the CC companies. READ the fine print.

Good hint, ask for autopay from the CC company. Usually they all have it, but you have to be persistant and that way you will never be late.

Been There Done That. :-{} :-{}

If you are late one time on those special offers, you are at the the mercy of the company and they can charge you what every interest rate/fees/penalities they want for the life of the card.

Customer loyality, what a joke now days even if you have been a customer of theirs for 10 + years.

I wont need autopay because I will never use that card again. I have played this game with cards before, like providian is famous for poping people but after 3 years they sold me to another company because they just couldnt get me.

I think this AAA card is run by a bunch of crooks

They are all crooks! Some are just more polite than others and will say thank you after they ..... you blind.

Don't even get me started. I hate the mother -you know whats. Up there with big oil.

WE have nearly 100K in unsecured debt. most at 4 or 5 % . Even with paying online, we've been burned before. We keep one card at 0 balance so if we get shafted, then next month that card is payed in full.

Only problem that is developing is Citibank is buying up a lot of the smaller card issuers.
