Hmmm... Zero replys, guess that answers the question eh? Maybe these trucks are a little tougher than we give em credit for. The 5 speed is rated for 550 ft/lbs and I know some of the torque crazed folks posting here are over that mark, in some cases X2 #ad
Try that in your Sooper Doody or Dura Crap...

I think HVAC blew out his 5 spd. But his torque is WAY up there. The NV4500 (5spd) is "only" rated for 450 ft lbs. The NV5600 (6 spd) is rated for 550 ft lbs.

I've had three 5sp trucks totaling over 200,000 miles and I've never had a transmission problem. Not even the nut coming off. I have shattered a clutch and Dana 80 on my 98 1-ton. Don't ask how it happened.

I dumped the clutch at 2500 rpm. Used to work real good on my 95 2500. Doesn't work so good on my 3500 with the 245/70-19. 5's. The rearend must have bouced a good foot or two off the ground three or four times before I realized enough to take my foot off the pedal. Shattered the clutch and all the internals of the rear end. Got the rear end replaced under warranty (it's nice having friends on the inside), but had to pay for the clutch.
