Borrowed one from a friend. Neat to playwith!

My thermostat is opening at 160 degrees, thought the heater wasn't working like it should.

At idle after a drive home and idling a couple of minutes measured the temp of each exhuast port right on top. 2-6 were al right at 208 degrees, #1 was around 185, whats up with that?

Turbo was around 285 after idling for a couple of minutes.

Outside air temp was 27 degrees and the outside of the air duct before the intake was 78 degrees, this may be warmer than the actuall air temp inside since underhood heat can warm it to.

Need to point it at the trans and rear diff after pulling my jeep around and see what they say.

Sensor has a range up to 580 degrees F or something like that, Fluke 61.

Just to much fun :-laf

Yes they are a great tool... I have a Raytec with a laser sight... . I use it for all sorts of stuff...

It is a great diagnostic tool... I use it a lot on the boat to make sure the cooling system is up to snuff, to make sure the temp gages are reading close, etc.
