i friend of mine is having some injection pump problems . here is what he has . its a 99 with 144,00 , stick , edge ez and he is on his 3rd pump in a little more than a year . ever time he puts a i. p. he also puts a new lift pump . the last 2 came from diesel fuel injection service of st louis . the first they said was due to water in the fuel . but he dropped the tank cleaned it and this pump is doing the same thing after 6 months . does anyone have any ideas . are there some better higher output pumps out . this a work truck he pulls some heavy loads so nothing super hot . thanks for all the help .

Assuming he fuels at the same station each time ... get him to pump the first 5 gallons into a light colored plastic 5gal container next time he fuels up, let it sit overnite and check for water/crud in it the next day ... if there is water he needs to find a new place to fuel at.
Try a different brand of VP44 this time if you are not sure of the quality of the reman VP's they sell.
How often is he changing his fuel filter? If you have bad fuel up there he may have to replace filter more frequently, $20 every 10K ... or even 5K is still cheaper than replacing 2 VP's every year, cheap peace of mind ... well cheaper than 2 VP's. :{
