FASS II - biodiesel compatible?

pre/post innercooler boost

TORQUE THIS - popcorn? Do you mean you hoped the stacks would get hot enough to blow popcorn out while you're driving. If so, that's funny stuff. I might try that.

I'm tickled pink with my stacks, its rained everyday since I put them on (6 days) and they are miter cut and I've never once taken a soot shower, not have any vehicles around me. I guess I'm just lucky so far. It is really obnoxious though, especially in the cab, I think I may order some "tip-out" stacks to try and solve this a little bit.

Lets see some pics of your stacks.

Standing still, reving the motor, it wouldn't pop, but drive down the road and you can smell it burning, lay into it and black popcorn does come out! :-laf

hahahaha, a popcorn popping truck. I have to try it.

Do I just dump the seeds down the stacks and shake the truck a little then go give it h*ll? I can't wait I'll need a chase vehicle and a video camera for this one.

Tell me exactly what to do.

All I did was dump a small bag down one stack. I tried just letting the truck idle but it didn't work. Next I tried to bring the RPM's up to 2000, still didn't work.

Drive sown the road and you can smell it popping and then burning. If you can get it to blow before it starts to burn, it would probably work. Just remember, it's black when it comes out!

If you could somehow stop the kernels from going down so far it would probably work better also.

Would you guys say that going from 4" exhaust with muffler to 4" downpipe to 5" stacks with no muffler would free up a little power/lower EGTs? It should be a little less restriction I'd think...

That's right. There is no difference in FLOW between 4" downpipe to 4" straightpipe and 4" downpipe to 12" straight pipe.

Exhaust will only flow as much as the smallest piece of pipe or the smallest bend allows. It will change the sound drastically, but will make no difference in power.

Depends on the muffler, most aftermarket mufflers are straight through with pockets similar to glass-packs, they don't restrict flow any, they simply interrupt the sound waves to make it a little quieter.

Now the factory muffler, thats a muffler, baffles, packing and all kinds of other stuff, that restricts flow.

I doubt if you'll actually feel any SOP (seat of pants) difference b/t with a muffler and without, it will probably seem faster because you'll lay into it a little harder so you can hear it. May lower EGTs a bit, but not significantly.
