How to make links single words vs. long address

Your system isn't saving cookies for some reason. This could be caused by several things:

1. It could be a corrupted cookie causing the problem - try clearing your cookies tools->internet options->clear cookies.

2. If using IE set the TDR as a "trusted site", pull down the tools menu to internet options, click on security, click on trusted sites, click on sites, uncheck the "require https" check box, put www.turbodieselregister.com into the list, recheck the "require https" check box, then apply the changes. Try it.

In Netscape 7. 1 pull down the tools menu to cookie manager and unblock cookies from this site.

3. If that doesn't work check to see if you have any internet security software on your pc such as zone alarm, norton internet security suite, mcafee internet security, etc. They can block cookies or time them out, even some anti-virus software will do that.

I don't understand why I can post hear but I can't post to my own thread? even spellcheck works over hear but not on the other thread I can't used it.

I have retyped it 3x and still dosen't work

Ever since about the time we got those google ads, i've been having trouble staying logged in. Don't know if it is a coincidence or what (since those ads are defaulted if you aren't logged in as a member). I don't know what happened. I haven't changed any settings that I know of. ???

Have you tried the above steps? You may have a corrupted cookie. Thus far everyone that has done the above steps that has had trouble staying logged on no longer does. It would be a coincedence with the google ads because they didn't change anything in the logon process.

I'll try them again. I just wanted to bring this up in case you knew of anyone else having problems from the addition of the ads. Seems everytime after I close out of a TDR window I need to relog in.

Aaaahaaaa.....

Tried clearing cookies first..... no go. Then I tried going through the trusted sites deal, that worked. I had this site in their before. Now when I went in there for some reason the only thing that was in the list was some AOL address. ???

Thanks Steve! I should have tried the above first again. Will do that 'next time' if it happens again.

Have a question about getting your truck profile to come up in your posts? I know a must have to do something. I already have a profile but it does not post Thanks

Got to make a signature in your 'User CP', then when you do an advanced reply, check the box where it talks about using your signature.

Look in the TDR Website FAQ section (the link is at the top of this forum). There are a couple posts in there about the difference between the truck profile and the signature and how to get it to show in posts, etc.

Steve, I have the free Zonealarm and IE 7. 0 and I can't seem to stay logged in unless I turn off the Zonealarm. I've seen by searching the archives that others are using Zonealarm. I can't seem to find out how to fix this. The only way I can post from home is to turn off the Zonealarm.

By the way I will try the trusted cookies thing when I get home tomorrow but it seems more like a Zonealarm issue.

Look around in zonealarm for a way to exempt specific sites from it - there should be a way somewhere in there. Zonealarm is the webmasters worst nightmare - that product causes more problems for users than every other product combined.

Do you have any recommendations? I had Norton 2006 but that bogged down my computer terribly, so I've gone with some other recommendations but I'm having troubles there also. I like the free stuff but I guess I could find some money for the protection if needed.

I just loaded up the windows updates and checked it with GRC.com and everything seems ok and now it works. Thanks for the heads up about ZA. Hopefully I am safe.
