I bought some hawk break pads ( the general duty ones, not heavy duty ones ) and after a while they started to squeek... . they are driving me crazy. I did have the heavy duty ones at first for about 2 days and i took them off, because hawk told me it is normal for that... . Is this normal for them also... Im thinking of going back to oem stuff:mad:

I had zero luck with carbon-fiber and Performance Friction pads on my '98. 5. I returned to stock on that truck and will replace mine on the '07 with OEM.

I use Hawk pads on our cars, not on the truck yet. I have found that the pads are much more aggressive than OEM and are prone to noise but if I use the anti squeal compound when installing them I don't have any noise issues. It could also be caused by brake dust, they may need a good shot with compressed air to clean out the dust.

Been using Akebono pads on mine now for about 15k miles. Very little dust, slight squeak at times, but not enough to bug me. Good pedal response too.

Ran Front EBC greens on my old truck and new with no noises and I ended up putting the hawk general duty ones in the rear but no noise
