Umm, between the twins :confused: is that possible ?

Mark got it :D

The BBD is sporting a new HD Intercooler from PDR as of 2:00pm last Friday. Took me an hour, taking my time, from start to finish fit up was great.

Scott, you do a much better job of editing and commenting than I do! I see you have that little regulator handy to check all the air stuff... ..... that is my favorite tool, last time I checked mine I had it to 60+psi and not even a tiny leak. Gordn, what you describe is what always happens, it actually pulls the tubes out of the ends. What was nice is to get to see that cut aways of this cooler and a stock one... ... ..... what a difference!

Jim, mine has done the same thing... . did you ever try to fix yours? Any luck?

Nope, but I still have it! I knew what I wanted and I got it, now there are no worries. It's funny after I put it in how much nicer the turbo's came off boost, now there not bucking against that 8-10 psi of pressure drop.

Jim

Anybody have pics of the nozzels between turbo's (or is that top secret stuff) does it effect the turbo at all ? how much water we talking ? don't see this stuff out this way :D

DHayden: does Banks make a second gen intercooler, and if so what PSI rating ?

Sorry I don't know, I just saw it on Xtreme 4X4 this weekend and saw the side by side comparison and it was impressive. Since I wouldnt mind having one I'm sure they don't make one for a 2nd Gen :rolleyes: .

Maybe I'll drop them a line tomarrow, I'll let you know what I find out.

the only time i've seen water pre turbo is on my pulling tractor. small shot pre turbo big high psi shot in the cross over pipe.

Water good. NOS bad (oxygen charge multiplier) The air charge may become too dense for pure NOS or propane. Methanol (methyl-alchohol) is a fuel but the water suppresses the tendency to burn.

Just water is cool. The steam is an anti detonate and an air charge coolant. Maybe a 50/50 mix of water/meth mix IF the rules allow. Higher mix ratios than 50/50 again, could cause preignition (knock) . Like Chris said, preignition inside your turbo would be bad. :{

Please dont inject NOS or propane pre turbo in a compound turbocharger set up. I'm with Redram1 and TurboTweaker, a small shot of water pre-turbo and a big shot after.

Scott, you could shoot a nozzle between the stages or right after the little turbo but I'd give it a chace to dissipate prior to the intercooler. Doing this may be what it takes to shoot allot of water in our trucks so it will have a chance to breakup. I don't really think it matters putting it between the stages as I've done this and tested it before and changed nothing at the intake hat as far as temps. Sorry I haven't added another nozzle yet as I would like to and try it, I know I can shoot more water than I do!

Talked to Banks today, they said they don't have any plans on providing these intercoolers for the 2nd Gens due to "their in-ability to provide fuel" :(

I'd have to say, IMHO, that Banks doesn't do the smartest things every time they decide to put out a new diesel product, or in this case, not put out a much needed product.
