Stock 5.9's with less than 250K miles rarely have head gasket issues, but 6.7's are a different breed. The Siamese design if the cylinders is far harder on headgaskets even in stock form. Deleted and tuned without studs can decrease the life drastically.

Saying something doesn't fail is too extreme, it's rare but does happen.
There's several 6.7L's / 68RFE combos used by RV hauling O/O that are into the 400k---500k---600k mileage ranges.....with nothing but regular maintenance done to them. ;) The 6.7L is not as "delicate" as one might think.....several are used in the oil & gas fields with huge amounts of idle time also.

It's still a great motor, but it is harder on HG based on the increased bore. Most will last the life of the motor in stock form, but it's still a weaker component then it's 5.9 brethren.

just wondering out load how many shops that do deletes/programers advise the customer of h/gskt risk before the fact?Every 6.7 h/gskt I have done has been on a deleted truck and everyone without exception had no clue of the increased risk.most claimed to running tow tunes only

"most claimed to running tow tunes only" Right! We have guys in town with tuners and after awhile you don't see them or their smoke anymore.

Had a guy in an F250 pass me last summer when we were in somewhat slow traffic where lanes were picking up and slowing down and people were forced to pass each other several times. He must have thought it was funny to dial up some smoke on his tuner every time he passed me.

But in defense of the original poster. I don't know many who wouldn't delete a pre 2013 cummins. Just makes sense for fuel economy and power. Just my opinion.

The only problem I have with deleted truck owners are the ones who EXPECT or Demand powertrain warranty coverage.......
