I'm a new subscriber and appreciate any help/suggestions on the following;
I've taken the head off my 1996 12v to deal with broken manifold studs and I am wondering if there are any suggestions as to cautions or issues that anyone has. The truck has always run great and had lots of power until the manifold started to leak causing low boost which is why I needed to make the repairs.
I plan to put everything back together with OE parts and replace all rubber components, water pump, front cover (outer) gasket and seal as well as the head bolts - all due to the fact that I plan to keep the truck for a long time. It currently has 151K on it and I plan to put another 100+K on it, most of which is towing a trailer or plowing snow.
Any suggestions are appreciated --- Thanks, Drew
