Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Head Gasket

Can any one tell me the diff between the 1996 and 1997 head gaskets and if so is their a way to tell the two apart by just looking at the engin. (no tear down)

they should be the same. I would figure the all 12 v are the same, but the 24v IS different. need to call Cummins to make sure.

Well I have done a little digging and found out that in 1996 the gasket had a thickness of . 065 and a boar of 4. 170 and in 1997 it had a thickness of . 062 and had a boar of 4. 185 as per fel-pro specs. But I can find no way to tell the difference by just looking at the engine!!!
