Can somebody tell me does the power come in on the main leg and then the switch distributes the power to the other legs depending on how far the switch is pulled ? If that's the case then I think the switch is might be bad

What year's the truck? These are for a 1998.

Thanks guys . Yes the multi function switch sounds like a little motor running sometimes . I got two switches one from o Riley's and one from car quest both Borg Warner brand . I will call dodge and see if they have one in stock

This is Better than my diagram truck is a 98

Swapped 4 different switches 2 are known to be good so far all with the same results so I'm pretty sure the switch can be eliminated . Still not sure what part the multi function switch plays in all this got the diagram our again hopefully I can figure out something

Went out today replaced the switch with an old switch all lights came on worked normal so swapped the carquest switch back in taillight worked dash lights would only come on with the dome lights so I swapped the orieley switch back in both Borg Warner switches the orieley switch everything works like normal again .

You have GOT to have some terminals contacting each other or a wire in the wrong place. It's very easy to do with all the wires separate like you do without using the connector.

+1. Carquest makes a connector PT351. If you do this, you should solder the connections and use shrink tubing. The part comes with the shrink tubes.

I got the connector put it on was afraid I had a wire wrong to but I found a pin call out diagram every thing was perfect I installed the connector the other day thinking that was my problem but it wasn't even found my old original connector and checked colors against the connector I had installed everything was right on.
