How much boost can the stock head bolts handle?

Around 50 psi, but that also depends on how aggressive you've advanced your timing.

We haven't advanced the timing, yet. Actually my mechanic didn't want to advance it until we installed studs, but I thought it'd be best to install the studs when we have the head off. Thanks!

Well, right or wrong, I'm still running the stock bolts. Both Piers and Ponci said that if the bolts were not stretched at all, they should take 60psi. I'm running 56#, timing is 22 degrees.



EGT's are just a tad high when towing up a grade so I think I'm going to back off a couple of degrees to make things easier on the engine.
