Is there something that works real well out there, or is it best to leave alone?

Does the paint trap too much heat?

I take it you want to paint your exhaust manifold?

Try using some high-temp barbecue paint. Most of it is good until 1,300° of continuous heat, which is a perfect rating for using it on the manifold. I painted the manifold on my '98. 5, and it held up great. The product I used is called Stove-Bright, and is available at Lowe's for about $3. 49 a can.

I did the same thing with the stove paint... in fact, I used the same can Evan did cause he helped me, who had another guy help him!

Get a catalog from the Eastwood Co. , they sell a paint that has stainless steel in it and it makes everything look like a new casting. It won't burn off. I have had it on my exhaust manifold and trubo charger for 3 years now and it still looks great.

Maybe you could get some of this light-colored stuff and add some blue pigment. Who knows if the color will hold up under heat though?
