I'm leaking coolant just below the t-stat again, just where the head sits on the block. This happened a couple of years ago at 150,000 miles, at that time I changed the headgasket and all was well. Now at 310,000miles it's leaking again, in exactly the same spot. I plan to change the gasket again, but here's my question...

Should I have the head checked for "flatness"?

Any reason to not use an OE gasket ?

Should I put in a fresh set of injector tips?

Other than that , this truck works fantastic.

thanks guys

I would have the head completely gone over... . valve guides are likely feeling the mileage & other parts as well. I would have them plane the head flat & check for possible leaks, cracks etc. Then buy a Cummins O. E. gasket [they seem to seal better] & some studs would be a good idea too. Depending on future plans... . maybe a set of orings while it is off. Just my $. 02
