Secret to changing the headlight bulbs is to become Gumby and as said above. . LOTs of bandages:D :D . One thing I have done to all my trucks is to remove the safety catch on the wiring plug. You may then bend yourself into a severly obscene position and insert the bulb and retaining riing with the harness causing any problems. You then simply plug the wiring back in and away you go,minus a few strips of skin. I have never had the wiring un-plug without the catch on it and never removed a battery or tray to do it... ... Exellent point Hammer. I did this on my truck to, there is plenty of friction to keep the sockets on yes being a bit of a Gumby helps:D

OK. I tried for 2 hours to replace the passenger side headlight bulb. What is the secret code to get the collar back on? I replaced the bulb with the flat side of the 9004 unit facing up and I think that it was seated properly. I cannot get the collar to stay

on no matter which way I turn it.

So I call upon all of the knowledge of this web site for the answer.

I got so frustrated that I started to take out the battery box but quit when I found that there was another bolt down near the lower rad hose. I was getting dark out.

Thanks.
Lubricate the rubber ring and locking connector with some clear silicon grease. Does wonders.
