If I turn the truck off with the high beams on, when I restart the truck and turn on the head light I get a "lamp out" warning and one head light does not light until I flip the bright switch on and off a couple of times.

It's been to the dealer three times and the tech's are baffeled. I know the techs and I know they are doing all they can, they've never run across this. I did find arc'ing traces on the head lamp plug where the bulb plugs into the harness and that harness had been replaced.

The wiring harness has been replaced, I don't know about the switches or the head lamp control module (relays). Any one else have this problem?

this is the same problem i have.

not all the time, happens more in cold weather.

dealer claims the brighter lamps i put in. did you????

I installed some 50w/100's from JC Whitney. I know I changed the left side back to stock, the side that originally showed the arcing. I'll have to check the right side to see if the higher wattage bulb is in there. If that's the case, then I guess I'm to blame. I'd rather have the stock wattage head lamps and forgo any risk of failure in th future. But than again, maybe the bulbs are causing the problem, such as a defective plug/base?

Thanks!
