I went 2 go home tonight in my 99 and the headlights would not come on...

The running lights were though. I check all the fuses. . Pulled the high beam switch and they came on only when I had it pulled. . I couldn't tell if the high beams were on but it did not look it, and as I drove home with the switch pulled back no one flashed me... Is it the high beam switch????Or just the head light switch... If anyone has had this problem let me know the solution and where the part is located on the truck...

Thank you for any help!!

The dimmer switch is part of the multi-function switch in the steering column. Sounds like a headlight switch failure to me, but have you checked all the fuses?

If the headlight switch replacement is what you need, it is a quick and easy fix. I had to do mine last month. $17 for the switch at Auto Zone.

Try tilting the wheel all the way up and see if they come on then. I had the same problem with my '02 and when I tilted the wheel all the way up the lights would come on and when I tilted the wheel down they would go out. I took the housing over the steering wheel off and there is a 20 or 30 pin connector there and one of the wires that run the lights was loose in the connector and when I was tilting the wheel down it was coming loose just enough not to make a connection. DC could have added another inch of length to all the wires in that connection and the problem would have never occurred. Just something to check real quick before buying another switch.
