My headlights started coming on after the switch is turned off. When this happens its just the headlights no clearance lights or tailights come on. Any ideas?? Thanks I do have sportheadlight conversion but has been on truck for 2 years.

I'd suspect a relay is hanging up. Since you did the sport conversion, you likely have the headlight directly connected to the batteries. Did you buy a conversion kit or build something yourself? I had issues like with one of the kits I bought.

Before I did my sport conversion I had a brite box (it allowed both filaments to be on during high beam use). My problem started with they wouldn't change from low to high or high to low then they wouldn't shut off. Thought it was my headlight switch but it turned out to be the brite box relay. When I took it off the inside was all corroded. On 2nd gens the lights are ground switched. They have power all the time and the ground is switched to turn them on and off. Obviously my issue was the relay went bad and they were getting ground all the time. Pulled out the brite box and worked like a charm. So I also would suspect a hanging or faulted relay.

You also need to remove and inspect your headlight switch for signs of burning...quite common to have the switch to overheat (IIRC from the dashlight dimmer resistor) and melt inside causing inadvertent grounds.

Switched ground is only on the Late 2nd gens

It was the big 8 pin relay in the suv lights harness.I think they went out business the relay has no numbers on it. Does anybody have idea on where to locate one?
