I can't believe that I never noticed before, but does the headlight switch not have back lighted nomenclature, like the rest of the dash controls?? Of all the switches you'd think would be lit is the one you need to find in the dark - the headlight switch... .

There was actually a question in my previous posting, even though I didn't use a question mark. Is there supposed to be a light in the headlight switch that has gone out or is it really an unlighted panel??
Thanks

It is supposed to be backlit I have 06 that is intermittent about working. If I thumb it with my finger it works fine. I bought a new switch but haven't installed it yet. It looked like alot of the dash has to come out around the instrument cluster so I just keep thumping. If I am wrong about the install someone please reply with more info.

I had a girlfriend like that once... Shouldn't you be thumbing it with your "thumb" and not your finger? My '03 doesn't have a light. Let's think about this... If our light switch was lit so we could find it in the dark, wouldn't that mean it was already turned on?

it just seems odd to me that this is the only unlighted switch in the truck. During those twilight hours in well lit areas where you can't yet tell if the lights are on, I quite often have to turn on the dome lights to see what position the headlight switch is in (Off-Park-Headight). But i can see every other control in the vehicle under all lighting conditions. For my next trick I'm going to begin researching a way to fix this, maybe with luminiescent tape, or paint. or something.
And this is the only vehicle i've driven that is this way. Even my old pull-switch era trucks had a lighted switch. Oddly, my mom's 300M with fully automatic headlights has an illuminated switch. So a full manual system which requires operator interaction doesn't need lighting, but a fully automatic one does??? Anyway. I'm just rambling but stuff like this just annoys me. But only every couple of years I guess.

Oops, I re-read your post. I thought you had asked if the switch itself is backlit - my mistake. The Nomenclature for mine is indeed lit.
