My 92 Dodge D250 running lights and marker lights dont work when I have the headlights on i've checked my fuses and the wiring and the bulb themselves they all are good . Any idea what can be wrong. I have heard that the switches go bad if this is the case any advice where i can buy another one. :{

My advice is to bite the bullet and get it from the dealer. I have gone through an average of one parts store switch per year, regardless of which store it comes from. I even have relays on my tail light circuits, taking the load from the switch.

I'm not sure what the dealer cost is. I would hate to imagine. When it happened to me I was able to get home by reaching up and wiggle the light swith from under the dash. Once home I was able to get a couple of switches from an autowrecker for $10. 00 each! The first one has lasted for years so far. Knock on wood.

4 years ago mine was 57 dollars at a dealer. I also had bad luck with other suppliers. Have since put in relays and no further problems

I had the same issue with my first gen. Simply changing the switch and installing relays is not always the answer. Take a moment and examine the light switch "plug".

If the switch got hot enough to ruin itself, the plug got just as hot. I believe you may do a search in this forum, or look in the stickies at the begining of this forum, you may find information on this very issue and where to acquire the parts to perform a perminant repair.

Good luck
