Welp Someone Ruined it for everyone in the State this week Some PSD owner was on the parkway (MY ONLY ROUTE TO WORK) and crashed his truck into some BMW and of course as arround here has it YOU GOTTA SUE SOooo why not sue the state of CT for 7. 6 Million due to (Insufficient Signage) I. E

No Mopeds

No COMBINATION VEHICLES OVER 7500

No Comercial Vehicles

No Trailers.



Welp My rig on the reg SAYS 7035 ... ... . NOT 7500

and I have been let go countless times before ..... Not anymore... . I SAW RED and the Phone call to TROOP G (of course in an outrage ) Netted me "Well when we see a dually we automatticly go by GVWR on the reg"



My reply... ... Well from now on when I see 55 I go by 100



That Netted Me "Believe what you want cause we will see 100 and go by Wreckless Driving +30 days or 600. 00 in fines)

I stated that when this blitz started this morning you guys have ruined the lives of HUNDREDS of WORKING MEN & WOMAN that drive their vehicles do work empty ... . use their vehicles... . and return empty as myself and others. BUT NO now we have to add a MINIMUM alotment of 50 extra minutes of traveling time on I~95 to go to our destinations that this particular route goes to for less than half of that time alone with a small sacrafice ... . Don't go loaded.

I don't understand the double standards

They will go by your registered weight when they are weighing you to give you an overwieght ticket but not when you drive on that road? Sounds like a lawsuit to me. NY used to be that way but they've changed some of the rules about pick-ups.

You should move to Wisconsin. If you get stopped and you are over your plate limit but not the GVWR, you get a ticket. If you are over your GVWR but not over the plate limit, you get a ticket. For example, I got stopped because my Ford was weighing in at a hefty 8200 lbs. Plates were rated for only 8000 lbs. So I got the 10000 lb plates. Got stopped again while towing a trailer for the truck coming in at 9000 lbs. The only way is to get way over-weight plates. What a drag.

Tim, I hear ya!!! I am so sick of F-in lawsuits that people are filing. I was just called to be a primary witness in an accident that happened two feet in front of me. An old booze-bag lady blows through a red-light, crosses in front of me and t-bones a jeep grand cherokee. The jeep flips and the dudes arm flies out the sunroof... crushing it. Now this boozebag has the audacity to sue the guy... . for what... . following a green light!?!!? I can't wait to go to court for this one.

I use it as an alternate route when going south of NYC via the TAPPAN Z.



I've got WA plates, and the way they register pickups is 1. 5X the dry shipping weight (which was just shy of 7000. So I'm registered for 12,000... go figure. )



I guess if I'm on it, I'll have to make sure the bed's empty, and I don't have a full tank of gas. THEN MAKE THEM WEIGH IT (and not go by the reg... )

O. K I am Calm now

Hell No I am not!! This State will put on the Latex examination gloves any seccond they can get. Well My suspect ideas were just that ideas but until today 2+2 never matched. Steve and I both had enough paperwork to put the state to shame and eventually lead all who just simply want to go to work do just that. Buutt Nooooo I clearly pointed out to the judge the Reg'd weight of the truck on my registration 7035 lbs , the official weigh in certificate of 7100 pounds with my vin on it and certified , the picture of the parkway sighn , and pics of my COMBINATION plates. The Numb personalitied "Judge" didn't want to hear a thing about it ... ... NOTHING!!!!! She just reverted back to the infraction ramling on and trying to come up with some sort of B. S on how the state EQUATES the weight of an empty vehicle. EQUATES ..... Why the hell do I have registration certificates then ... . In fact why do any of us? How about sending in a ticket NOT GUILTY and somehow walking out of the courtroom ... ... Guilty? Oh and here's the rusty nail ... . "Well Mr taylor I can knock this down to 35. 00 and 2 points on your license ... ... OOoorrr you can (Here it comes) Make a 60. 00 charitable contrabution to any local charity within Half an Hour and bring the reciept back to me and the case is dropped. I can't tell you where to go so ask a bailiff outside. " Say Whaaaattt!!!! O. k I bite ... . out I go and ask ... ... WOW what a coincidence there's a organization within the courthouse! (Do you smell the rat yet???) So I go inside to find the Anti~violence yaddah doobity dooo . org place inside and lo and behold ... ... ..... State of ct POLICE posters ..... everywhere. I am ready to snap like Joe Thighsman's leg at this point but remained calm. I go back in the courtroom and hand the judge the reciept and the very next case I hear ..... yep the same ol run arround. Now as of 2 days ago the merritt has had OPPERATION CENTIPEDE ... . (More like Rat trap to me) and they have issued a staggering 750 infractions and arrested two or three warrant offenders.

Before I start to rant, the best advice is to tell it to the newspapers and media. They'll like slamming the crooked court system you just got screwed by. Sensationalism at it's best. The only other thing I can think of is to take it up to an appelate court. The only problem is that the case has been dismissed so that may be a problem.

Any way you slice it, you got screwed!

OK, deep breaths..... Sounds like you are gonna have to go to a higher level than the courts. Has the media been involved? Your judge probably drives her excursion on the Merrit every day. As far the "donation" goes, I had something similar happen to me last year. EXCEPT, the donation would have been going to one of the liberal anti-gun organizations. When I told the judge I'll take the points, she almost fell off her bench. I equate that to extortion.

A friend of mine gave me directions to his house off of the Merrit and i had to explain to him that I needed some alternate directions since I would be considered oveweight on the Merritt. He couldn't believe it and said that only comercial vehicles were prohibitted.

My DA must of over heard yours Tim. I got called 2 min. after you and as soon as i opened my mouth the DA asked me if i was looking for a jury trial. I said all i want to do is give my side of the story. And he quickly responded by saying "just pay the $35. 00" and be gone.
